Meet Our Members

A motorcycle engine is comprised of many different and unique parts. It takes a collaborative unit to power change.

We’re a diverse group of caring women who possess a wide range of talents, backgrounds and professions. Though each of us bring value to the organization in our own way, everyone involved exhibits one common trait—dedication.

Our Members:

  • Karen - Co-founder of Krebs-Netzwerk

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because:
    I wanted to make a difference in our local community for the women and men who are fighting Breast Cancer.

    How I have been personally touched by breast cancer:

    My Mother was diagnosed in 2001 and continues to be a FIGHTER … This is where I draw my Strength and Courage!!

    My motorcycle:

    I love riding all types and sizes of motorcycles.

    Personal:
    Happy being single, but I enjoy meeting people.  I have 4 very protective sons, 2 beautiful granddaughters, 4 handsome grandsons, 3 grand-dogs, and 3 grand-kitties. I work in the Insurance world and specialize in Municipality Coverage.  I’m the owner/operator of “Always Home” Pet & House Sitting.  My favorite ride was “The Girls Ride to NH” – it was great riding with 6 other Krebs-Netzwerk.  My most accomplished ride was riding from The Atlantic Coast to The Pacific Coast then back home to Florida.

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because:
    Looking for a women’s riding group – women with similar interests and outlook on life

    Have I been personally touched by breast cancer:
    My mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor.

    My motorcycle:

    Personal:
    Married to Bob for 22 years. I work in financial planning and investments industry. I like motorcycle touring, riding with friends, trying new restaurants.

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because:

    I’ve attended every Go Pink since 2008 and seeing what Krebs-Netzwerk did enticed me to join.  I love being the Krebs-Netzwerk President because I love our mission and this great group of ladies!

    I have personally been touched by breast cancer:

    I lost both my sister-in-law & cousin to Breast Cancer.

    My motorcycle:

    2002 “Fat Girl” named “Risque” that I enjoy entering into bike shows

    Personal:

    I have 2 children, my oldest (daughter) is an Orthodontist in South FL. My youngest, (my son) passed away in June 2017.  I have 2 grandchildren who live in Boston.  And I have 3 dogs & 2 cats at home.  I grew up as a teenager riding a dirt bike but have had my HD since 2006. My favorite ride has been when I rode with several Krebs-Netzwerk to North Carolina in October 2017.

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because:

    It is a motorcycle group of ladies that are 100% volunteers, helping those who are battling breast cancer.  I love to ride.  Wind therapy is my blessing while helping make a difference in others’ lives.

    I have personally been touched by breast cancer:

    I am a survivor since 2010.  It was caught very early and has made my outlook on life different.

    My motorcycle:

    2015 Harley Tri-Glide Trike named “Trixie”

    Personal:

    I love the outdoors – camping, kayaking & boating in particular.  I sew, crochet, and garden.  I also love arts & crafts.  Most of all, I love being with my spouse, 2 children & 5 grandchildren.

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because:
    I have a passion to help others.

    I have personally been touched by breast cancer:
    My Grandmother passed away from Breast Cancer and I have had family members and friends who have battled Breast Cancer.  I also have several clients that are going treatment and losing their hair.

    Personal:
    I am married and have a son.  I have 2 beautiful granddaughters and a grandson on the way.  I own a hair salon (Tre Bella) and I love to spend my time with family.

  • Susan - Current Secretary - Member since 2009

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because: 

    I wanted to become more involved, and I have an interest in breast cancer awareness

    I have personally been touched by breast cancer:
    My mother, her sister and my father’s sister are/were all survivors of breast cancer. My mother’s Great -grandmother also had breast cancer.

    My motorcycle:
    I currently ride a 2007 Softail Deluxe; I started riding on a Ride a 50th Anniversary Sportster. Riding my own bike since September 2009 but have been riding with my husband since 2002.

    Personal:
    I am a Florida native; I am a mother of 2 sons of whom I am very proud of. I am married to a wonderful husband who is also responsible for my interest in riding a motorcycle, I am adjuster for insurance company, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, riding my motorcycle, music/art festivals, the beach, exploring new places.

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because:
    I wanted to help other people while they fight breast cancer and Krebs-Netzwerk is a great cause.

    How I have personally been touched by breast cancer:
    My sister is a 12 year fighter and still is fighting; her strength and outlook is simply amazing and very humbling for me.

    My motorcycle:
    2016 Heritage

    Personal:
    I have 2 wonderful daughters, 2 handsome grandsons. I also have 2 gorgeous 4 legged fur babies.  I enjoy walking, reading, crafts, playing with my puppies, and riding my motorcycle.

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because:
    I wanted to help breast cancer patients and found out the Krebs-Netzwerk are a great group of gals, which love to ride and help people

    I have personally been touched by breast cancer:
    My Mother and Mother-in-law both have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

    My motorcycle:
    2010 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail, I have been riding since 1980

    Personal:
    Married, I have 1 daughter, 2 stepdaughters, 1 awesome grandson, and 3 beautiful granddaughters. I am a Service Technician for a Utility Company;    I love to ride my horses and my iron horse.

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because:
    I am a Breast Cancer Survivor and I wanted to give back.  My first visit I realized the members were very dedicated and a made powerful team.

    How I have personally been touched by breast cancer:
    Unfortunately it is a family thing; my Mother and role model was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992. I was diagnosed in 1995 with right breast cancer.  Just as we both were in recovery in 1997, my sister was diagnosed.  She fought strong and hard but lost her battle at age 46.

    My motorcycle:
    I have a pink Can Am Spyder with my sister’s name and the date she became an angel.

    Personal:
    I  started riding at age 60.  I am Nurse Case Manager.  I have 3 children and 3 grandchildren, I also 3 step grandchildren that live in Ohio.  I love my family, my friends, and my Ribbon Rider Sisters!

    It is a great cause and I enjoy the volunteering opportunity.

    I have personally been touched by breast cancer:

    I lost my Grandmother and my 2 sisters are Survivors.  My other sister had a lateral mastectomy due to Pre-Test results.

    My vehicle:

    1966 Ford A/C Cobra

    Personal:

    I enjoy classic cars, football, making cakes and crafting.  I also work in Tre Bella Salon.

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because:
    I saw first-hand what a wonderful job the organization does with funds received as a Komen grantee.  I’ve ridden with the group to homes of women who are awarded help and it is an awesome experience.

    How I have personally been touched by breast cancer:
    I have volunteered and been a prior board member for Susan G. Komen for 21 years.  Recently I  lost a dear friend at age of  29 to stage 4 breast cancer.  She was diagnosed at age 21 and fought for 8 years.

    My motorcycle:
    2016 Harley Davidson Sportster

    Personal:
    I am retired and enjoy traveling.  I also volunteer with Krebs-Netzwerk and Susan G. Komen.  My most memorable ride has been Iron Butt.

    I was a new rider and wanted to learn from more experienced riders while at the same time contributing to a worthy cause.

    How I have been personally touched by breast cancer:

    Both my sister and sister-in-law fought and survived Breast and Ovarian Cancer!

    My motorcycle:

    My dream bike is the Roadsmith Indian Trike.

    Personal:

    I’m a single mom and I have worked for Valencia College the last 19+ years. I have a wonderful son named John who is smart, funny, kind and is the light of my life.  I am an animal lover and I enjoy spending my time at the beach, kayaking, riding motorcycles, and going on adventures like skydiving or just discovering something new!

    How I have been personally touched by breast cancer:

    My cousins have had breast cancer and my friends in Krebs-Netzwerk.

    My motorcycle:

    Personal:

    I am the Operations Manager at Academy Sports.  I enjoy riding my bike, sharing time with my family and traveling.

    My mother had issues with her lymph nodes.

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because: 

    I recently lost my baby brother to cancer of his mouth & throat after a very short battle. Because of his experience and my own I am passionate about standing with and supporting others battling cancer. I know well the emotional, psychological and financial challenges that come with battling cancer.

    How I have been personally touched by breast cancer:

    I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer in August 2016. I spent a year in treatment and a year in the reconstructive process. In August of 2018, I was released from treatment and now on regular checki-ns with my Oncogolist.

    My motorcycle:

    I rode dirt and trail bikes as a kid. I got my endorsement and started riding again in 2016 as a way of dealing with my cancer. I started with a 2007 Honda Shadow and upgraded to a HD Heritage Classic last Spring.

    Personal:

    I am single. I work as a Mental Health Therapist specializing in Trauma at a private clinic in Winter Park and as a Community Liaison with Bioclinica Research working on Alzhemier research and clinical trials.  I am very adventurous and always up for a new challenge. I lived & worked in Bosnia for 7 years and I am the founder and president of Give Them Back! Ministries, a non-profit organization that sends counselors into war-torn parts of the world for weeks of Intensive Counseling.  In my free time I enjoy riding every chance I get, cooking, gardening, traveling, hiking and kayaking.

    I joined Krebs-Netzwerk because:

    I wanted to support women fighting Breast Cancer and some friends that are members introduced me.

    How I have been personally touched by breast cancer:

    My Daughter-In-Law’s Mother had Breast Cancer and is in remission.  My co-worker is currently fighting and healing from her Mastectomy.

    My motorcycle:

    I am fender fluff on a 2017 Street Glide.

    Personal:

    I am currently working on my 19th year at the same law firm as a Paralegal.  I’ve also been a Licensed Esthetician since 2010.  I love going to the beach and spending time with my husband, my 2 handsome sons, and 2 beautiful daughters-in-law while watching my 4 grandchildren play their favorite sports.   I also have a fur-baby puppy named Harley, who I love to spoil.

    I love to travel, read, go to the beach and spend time with my family, and of course riding my motorcycle.
